OUR ENVIRONMENT POLICY

As Beşiktaş Shipyard, we are committed to selecting methods that minimize the environmental impact of our actions and to complying with all national and international environmental regulations.

We collaborate with TÜRKAK to measure our carbon footprint and ensure a sustainable future. The carbon emissions from our activities are calculated and reported in accordance with the principles of the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard and have been audited and verified by a TÜRKAK-accredited verification body.

With this commitment in mind, our environmental policy sets forth the following objectives:

• Ensuring full compliance with environmental legislation, the obligations arising from it, and the conditions we have accepted.
• Protecting the ecosystem and biodiversity we interact with and taking all necessary measures to maintain a livable environment.
• Evaluating all environmental risks and impacts of our activities, taking necessary actions to achieve environmental improvement goals, and reviewing them periodically.
• Utilizing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies to mitigate the effects of climate change when designing processes.
• Conserving natural resources, using resources efficiently, minimizing waste generation under the zero-waste approach, and increasing recycling and recovery efforts.
• Increasing the use of renewable energy sources.
• Carrying out activities to combat the climate crisis and contribute to the transition to a low-carbon economy.
• Organizing training programs to instill environmental awareness in our employees and enhance environmental responsibility.
• Monitoring environmental performance, ensuring continuous improvement, and periodically reporting progress.

OUR ENERGY POLICY

Beşiktaş Tersane A.Ş., In line with its vision of becoming a leader in the national market and an internationally respected and reliable shipbuilding and repair centre, it believes in the necessity of leaving a more habitable world to future generations and is aware of the responsibility required by this vision.

For this purpose Beşiktaş Tersane A.Ş.;

• To protect natural resources and increase the use of renewable energy resources while carrying out our activities in the works we undertake; Ensuring energy efficiency, setting targets for the use and consumption of energy resources, periodically reviewing them, monitoring their implementation and results, and continuously improving the system by providing the necessary infrastructure and resources to increase the performance and efficiency of sustainable energy management system processes,
• To fulfil the requirements by following the legal regulations and conditions regarding the energy management system,
• To increase the energy awareness of its employees and stakeholders, to raise awareness on the consumption and efficient use of energy resources by using internal communication resources,
• To follow environmentally sensitive technological developments and manage change processes in order to ensure the effective use of energy resources to reduce the effects of climate change while creating processes in line with our corporate vision and energy management strategy,
• To ensure that design and procurement processes are carried out with a focus on energy efficiency in order to improve energy performance,
