OUR ENVIRONMENT POLICY

At Besiktas Shipyard, we are committed to selecting methods that minimize the environmental impact of our actions and adhering to all national and international environmental regulations.

We are cooperating with TÜRKAK to measure our carboon footprint and set ambitious targets to ensure a sustainable future. Carbon emissions resulting from our activities are calculated and reported in accordance with the principles of the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard and were audited and verified by the TÜRKAK accredited verification organization.

With this commitment in mind, our environmental policy outlines the following objectives:

•    To take all necessary precautions to maintain the ecosystem and bio-diversity that we interact in our all actions and to sustain the livable environment,
•  To take action by considering and evaluating the effects on nature in the planning of production processes,
•   To ensure the collecting of waste separately in its source according to its types by reducing the occurred amount of wastes to lowest level, to increase the recycling,
•   To reduce the natural resource consumption to the lowest level by adopting the usage of sustainable resource,
•  To reduce the consumption of raw materials to lowest level by making the planning in production stage with minimum wastage,
•  To provide training to all of our employees about environmental aspects of the works they do and inform them,
•   To make drills for struggle with possible emergency situations effectively and to provide continuous improvement by evaluating the results of drill,
• To improve environmental performance and to ensure continuous improvement of the environmental management system.

OUR ENERGY POLICY

Beşiktaş Tersane A.Ş., In line with its vision of becoming a leader in the national market and an internationally respected and reliable shipbuilding and repair centre, it believes in the necessity of leaving a more habitable world to future generations and is aware of the responsibility required by this vision.

For this purpose Beşiktaş Tersane A.Ş.;

• To protect natural resources and increase the use of renewable energy resources while carrying out our activities in the works we undertake; Ensuring energy efficiency, setting targets for the use and consumption of energy resources, periodically reviewing them, monitoring their implementation and results, and continuously improving the system by providing the necessary infrastructure and resources to increase the performance and efficiency of sustainable energy management system processes,
• To fulfil the requirements by following the legal regulations and conditions regarding the energy management system,
• To increase the energy awareness of its employees and stakeholders, to raise awareness on the consumption and efficient use of energy resources by using internal communication resources,
• To follow environmentally sensitive technological developments and manage change processes in order to ensure the effective use of energy resources to reduce the effects of climate change while creating processes in line with our corporate vision and energy management strategy,
• To ensure that design and procurement processes are carried out with a focus on energy efficiency in order to improve energy performance,
